APIIT quality assurance
framework comprising regular external audits and validation
of programmes by Staffordshire University, UK and APIIT
Malaysia and internal quality assurance processes has ensured
that ‘appropriate and effective teaching, support,
and learning opportunities are provided to all our students’.
Parents can be assured of entrusting their children’s
education upon a qualified and competent lecturer panel
who conduct the teaching programmes. APIIT prides itself
on having the best qualified full-time teaching faculty
in the Sri Lankan private higher education sector; among
the full-time staff are several PhD’s. In addition
to their subject expertise, all lecturers have been trained
in teaching and are committed to student success. Having
a full time staff to conduct the programmes is a definite
advantage as full time lecturers are easily held accountable
for their services and are constantly available for the
students to seek assistance and guidance.
APIIT infrastructure facilities including
computer laboratories, library and classrooms are amongst
the best in the country and are comparable to facilities
available in developed countries. Laboratories are equipped
with modern equipment and libraries stocked with adequate
copies of text books and other reading material. Students
are also provided with adequate support facilities and opportunities
for recreation. Prospective students and their parents are
invited to visit us to meet the teaching staff and inspect
the facilities to reassure themselves on the high standard
of resources.
Experience
The Asia Pacific Institute of Information
Technology (APIIT) is an international organisation with
campuses in Australia, Malaysia, Pakistan and India. The
main campus in Malaysia has more than 8,000 students in
full-time study programmes. Since 1998, about 5,500 students
have graduated from APIIT campuses with internationally
recognised qualifications. APIIT graduates hold prestigious
positions both in state and private sectors in many countries
and in international organisations.
The long period of international experience
of APIIT and Staffordshire University has necessarily been
of significance in the development of APIIT Lanka as a centre
of excellence in higher education. The Institute’s
rapid progression during the last few years points to the
internal strengths and the capacity for innovation and adaptability
to the changing environment.

in the UK and Australia is an indication of the stature
in which APIIT Sri Lanka and its programmes are held from
an external prospective. These established relations help
local students to obtain credit transfers readily to the
affiliated universities if they with to complete part of
their studies abroad.
Employability of graduates
Employability of APIIT Sri Lanka graduates
is one of the best indicators of quality of education programmes
and their relevance in the local context. A comprehensive
study undertaken early this year has revealed that the average
