BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance

The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance is a three-year full-time degree awarded by Staffordshire University, UK. This award aims to provide a sound understanding of financial and managerial aspects of accounting within a modern enterprise.

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of both the theory and practical application of accounting and finance. You will acquire the competence to analyse and report financial information and appreciate the strategic role of accounting and finance in the corporate world. The award is both a qualification in its own right and a stepping stone to a professional accountancy qualification.

The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree is accredited by CIMA. The CIMA accreditation allows students of this award to complete CIMA professional qualification simultaneously taking advantage of significant exemptions. Similarly, CIMA students can enjoy exemptions and obtain advanced entry to this award. This collaborative arrangement not only shortens the time required to acquire these qualifications but also significantly lowers the students’ financial commitment.

Teaching and Learning

Admission Requirements

The minimum qualifications required for admission on the standard route are:
 A. GCE Advanced Level
  a. Sri Lankan: 3 passes or
  b. London, Cambridge or Edexcel : 3 D passes or
  c. Any combination totalling to 12 points from the following tariff scheme:

 B. GCE/GCSE Ordinary Level - Credit Passes (Grade 4) for English

 The minimum qualifications required for admission on the accelerated route are:
  - GCE Advanced Level (Sri Lankan, London, Cambridge or Edexcel) - 3 C passes and
  - GCE/GCSE Ordinary Level - Credit Passes (Grade 4) for English
You may apply pending A/L results. Applicants with additional qualifications may receive advanced entry.
