Prof. Bandara Wanninayake

Prof. Bandara Wanninayake is a Professor in Marketing attached to the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. He graduated with a second upper class honours from the University of Sri Jayawardanepura and today he holds a PhD from Tomas Bata University, Czech Republic, MBA from the University of Colombo and Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom. Further he obtained gold medal for best performances at MBA programme. Currently he is specialized in lecturing of Strategic marketing management, Sales management and Consumer behaviour and Research methodology in the University and working as a visiting faculty in both local and foreign affiliated institutions. Further he has published more than 40 research articles at reputed international research journals and proceedings of the international research conferences. He has served as a conference chair, co- chair and session chair in several local and international conferences and has presented papers more than 15 international conferences. Further he is a member of editorial boards of several academic journals in Sri Lanka. His main research areas are: Consumer behaviour, Brand management, Advertising and Service marketing. He started his academic career as a lecturer in Department of Marketing Management University of Kelaniya in 2003 and during the period he served to the University in different capacities. As the leading roles, he severed as the senior student counsellor of the Faculty of Commerce and Management studies during the period of year 2009 and 2010. Further he served as the head of department of marketing management from 2013 to 2016 and was working as an acting dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management studies in several times. Furthermore he served as the Director of the Staff development Centre at the University of Kelaniya during the period of year 2017 and 2020, Currently he is serving as the Coordinator in the Master of Business Management of the University and research consultant for several leading companies in the 

country. Further is serving as a consultant at several private sector firms and has conducted many workshops in the areas of Strategic marketing management, Sales management, and Customer care etc.
