MSc Computer Science (Business Computing)

Programme Overview

The MSc degree in Computer Science (Business Computing) provides a vital bridge between technology and management by developing the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective practitioner in an information system-rich environment. This MSc master programme focuses on the areas of computing fundamental to the use and development of IT as a tool to support the strategic objectives of an organisation. As a master degree MSc, it is designed for professionals seeking to lead at the intersection of business and technology.

This course will enable you to study computing systems with a specific perspective of how they fit within a business and the required management activities needed to maintain and develop them. As a part of computing, students will learn about issues such as integrating business objectives and how to model these into designs. At the opposite end of the process students will learn about how to implement systems. MSc enables students to work with the latest technologies including SAP, and Amazon.

The programme consists of lectures, tutorials, workshops and projects. Projects are intended not only to develop students’ practical skills and application of technology, but also to develop your ability to work efficiently in a group as well as independently in a disciplined and structured setting.
